I've a great desire for understanding the backend technologies of the internet as they form the basis for how I develop a website or application. This is a rapidly evolving area of study which I'm excited to learn more about as the surge in mobile phone focused development increases.
In the Final Year of my degree in BSc Multimedia Technology & Design I proposed, designed and developed this prototype app for the Android platform. This was a challenging but very fun project in which I taught myself Java programming for Android over a period of less than 8 months. It’s an inter-museum, social integrated app for viewing and contributing more about our cultural heritage.
In the first year of my university course at Brunel University I completed an assignment for the module Internet Technologies & website Design. I investigated and reviewed online maps such as Google and Yahoo Maps. I also looked at the backend technologies which they use such as AJAX and XHR. I gained knowledge of TCP/IP, Network Discovery Tools, Internet Security and technical constraints of web design.
