When a project's timeframe allows I enjoy a challenge to develop something visually stunning that functions in fullness and is enjoyable to view, interact and learn from. Usability and interface design are two of my favourite areas of study and development.
During the second year of my degree in BSc Multimedia Technology & Design I worked with four other students; script planning, casting, prop gathering, location shooting and post production including 3D animation for this short action film. We put a huge amount of effort into this 5 minute production as did our four actors we casted.
On my one year work placement with Film Education I assisted in designing and developing educational resources for film-specific Interactive CD-ROMs. This involved graphic design, video editing & compression, PDF design and constructing the disc with Director including scripting in Lingo. In total I worked on four of these projects during my work placement.
This was one of my second year assignments for the Imaging module as part of my university course in Multimedia Technology & Design BSc. I worked in a group of three students and went out to several locations using a Nikon D80 to photograph Autumn Colours, Art Deco structures and Moving Water. For this assignment I produced a consistent, contemporary postcard design to present all of the photos in.
This university piece of work was to research an area of particular academic interest, develop ideas for an interactive toy and then produce it. I decided to produce an interactive Cuckoo Clock with time & user controlled animations. For this Flash project I developed in ActionScript 2. It was an enjoyable project and I've yet to find a Flash made Cuckoo Clock out there by anyone else so enjoy and turn up your speakers!
The focus of this task was to work in pairs to promote a partner's online portfolio. I decided to develop Flash based, dry humoured tutorials using a fictional character called Floyd. There were three individual tutorials which deliberately mocked Floyd's Do It Yourself approach to tasks including web development, music production and included here; 3D modelling - enjoy and turn up your speakers!
