Web

My web projects begin with a pencil and paper to effectively explore my ideas before I construct them in digital form. These projects are websites which I've designed, built and tested as fully conforming XHTML Strict type documents.

The Poem Shop

From 2007 onwards I have been co-ordinating design, development and general marketing of The Poem Shop. This customised poetry order business favoured a blog format homepage which I implemented with WordPress and my own design. Additionally I developed a PHP order form and upload facility for The Poem Shop clients to use and submit content.

Bright Star Educational Resource

Bright Star Educational Resource

This was one of my initial projects I worked on during my one year work placement for Film Education and their client Pathé International. Incorporating the supplied artwork and educational material for the film I produced three designs including this one. In addition to design work I incorporated JavaScript for student activities which included an annotation feature for highlighting and commenting on poetry extracts from Keats' Bright Star.

How to Train Your Dragon Educational Resource

This was a project I worked on during my one year work placement for Film Education and their client Dreamworks. An external agency had already design and produced a CD-ROM educational resource for the film and it was up to me to design a matching website which included its artwork and some features.

Picturacy ®

For this project I scripted, developed and produced the self-help guides for Film Education's e-learning application, Picturacy ®. Screen capturing was done through Camtasia and then edited in Final Cut Pro alongside a narration which I scripted and edited to display in sequence. In addition to these tasks I assisted the team in the delivery of the application: adding the self-help videos I'd produced into an FLV player on the Picturacy website and finalising the application.

CP3 Training Conference

My very first project for Film Education during my one year placement was to design and develop this website for their yearly training conference called CP3. My challenge here was getting a lot of content in but at the same time making it all accessible with the least amount of clicks. I therefore incorporated MooTools' fx.slide function to make extending containers for content on the same page; plus make multiple video content viewable in the same player object.

Zizz Fusion website

Zizz Fusion

My personal blog is a piece of work I continually keep up to date with articles on a range of topics which I author myself. I decided to develop my own Wordpress theme for Zizz Fusion incorporating a fresh, creative appearance. The website was launched in 2010 and continues to be updated with new content on a regular basis including tutorials, travel, topical discussion and technology.

Bid for an Experience Widget Microsite

Bid for an Experience Widget - Cancer Research UK

As part of my BSc Multimedia Technology & Design degree I worked with two other students to produce a multimedia widget aimed at motivating people to donate money to Cancer Research UK. The brief was conceptualised by London-based digital agency Essence. Out of 22 submitted projects from groups in my course; ours was shortlisted down to 3 and later won 1st place as the one Essence and Cancer Research UK thought addressed the brief the most.

Airport Expansion UK

Airport Expansion UK

This was one of my second year assignments for the Design Practice module as part of my university course BSc Multimedia Technology & Design. The task was to communicate a social issue effectively at a local, regional, national and international level. I chose the very topical issue of airport expansion and produced an engaging website with an interactive map and street interviews which were conducted by me at the National Climate March 2008.
